“I came to First Step Services in June to get an alcohol and drug assessment. After talking to a friend earlier this year, I decided I needed to stop procrastinating and focus on handling my problems one at a time instead of getting high and ignoring them because they wouldn’t go away on their own. After attending several groups, I started to really relate to the other members and learned from their situations how to handle some of my own problems with substance abuse and escaping problems. Even though I didn’t come for alcohol,  I learned a lot about how we were going through the same things and how to handle it better.
