I honestly wasn’t looking forward to going to group meetings at First Step at first, but after the first week, I began to look forward to going my group meetings. They were a way of getting off my chest things that were going on in my life. I also was able to hear what others in my same situation were going through and was able to get a sense of not feeling alone. By listening to other people, I found that I could relate to them and it made me feel not so alone. I learned more positive ways to deal with stress and I also was able to gain hope of making such a negative situation into a positive turning paint of my life.
