“I came to First Step Services in April after completing in-patient treatment in Florida. My first impression was it was a large group. I quickly learned in this large group it was easy to open up and talk. I found it most helpful to be able to cross talk using “I” statements. Because of other’s feedback, you can relate to others and them to you. I think I’m still learning about myself. I’m growing and changing and I don’t have a desire to drink alcohol anymore. Alcohol no longer consumes my every waking moment and thought. Even though I’ve completed the program, I plan to continue to come as I feel I can still benefit a lot from the group.”
