I was brought to First Step after I was arrested for speeding and getting a DWI back in July. I thought this would be a long, boring lecture where we would just be taught a bunch of info that is useless in most day to day situations. However, during my time here at First Step I have learned about how to control and communicate my emotions effectively and I have made some friends along the way. I didn’t think that I could get through the 30 days of sobriety and groups as easily as I did. I would even look forward to group sometimes as it was a break from my school work, rugby, etc. It gave me time and the tools to be better in all aspects of my life.
