“What brought me to First Step were a couple of marijuana charges. What I loved most about this group while I was here is that the counselors were on a personal level with me. They remembered the little details and it did make me feel good, that they actually cared. What was most helpful was listening to other people’s experiences and advice. I learned at first I was very shy but after I went more I was more open with my peers. Treatment did have a part in changing the way I go through my daily life, but I was ready to stay clean before I attended the group. Overall, I had a great experience with the counselors and peers.”
