Owen grew up in California and graduated with an economics degree from University of California, Davis.  He started a career in banking after college and then two years later decided he wanted to see what the rest of the nation had to offer.  After moving to North Carolina, Owen worked eight more years in banking, then decided to leave to see what else he could do. 

After leaving banking, Owen obtained a license to sell life insurance.  He decided he wasn’t a fan of the career and helped a friend create a mental health clinic from scratch.  With this new knowledge and experience, Owen worked for other clinics, including First Step.  He currently is a billing specialist, and ensures that insurance claims are sent and paid correctly and in a timely fashion.

On the side, Owen owns and operates a Carolina Hemp Company store in Zebulon.  He enjoys providing alternatives to pharmaceuticals for pain, stress, and anxiety.  He also tutors math to several students from grade school all the way through high school.  On the weekends, he spends time working as a security guard.  When the weather is nice, Owen likes to ride motorcycles.

Owen has two dogs and a cat.  One dog is a Great Pyrenees named Appa, and the other is a Golden Retriever named Charlie.  His cat is named Momo.
